Maison Jansen Ionic Column Lamp

Modelled as an Ionic column, the lamp features a fluted shaft and stepped base in richly coloured resin, accented with finely gilded bronze detailing. Founded in Paris in 1880 by Jean-Henri Jansen, Maison Jansen quickly rose to prominence as the world’s first truly international design house. The firm became synonymous with glamour and refinement, working for an elite clientele that included the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, the Shah of Iran, King Leopold II of Belgium, and Jacqueline Kennedy, for whom Jansen redecorated the White House in 1961. Renowned for blending historical styles with contemporary luxury, Jansen’s creations lent grandeur to both traditional palaces and modern apartments alike.

This lamp reflects that unique spirit: the marriage of classical architecture with modern ingenuity, transformed into a decorative object of striking elegance. It is offered with a custom, handmade pleated silk shade by Anne's of Kensington, newly fitted and electrically tested. The lamp is currently wired for UK use but can be adapted to alternative fittings upon request.
