A black lacquer bundai table decorated with scattered gilt butterflies, flowering heads, and stylised foliage, arranged in a restrained all-over pattern reminiscent of textile design. The rectangular top is edged with a narrow gilt border, above an apron enriched with scrolling floral ornament, providing a subtle contrast to the quieter surface.

Raised on gently tapering legs, the table retains the low, grounded proportions associated with traditional Japanese interiors. The lacquer displays a fine network of age-related craquelure, adding depth and patina. Traditionally used as a low table or presentation stand, it adapts naturally as a coffee table or display piece in a contemporary setting.
