Flanking putti suspend festooned swags above an intricately carved oval reserve, creating a composition of pronounced movement and decorative drama.

The gilded surface, warmly toned and subtly varied, lends depth and luminosity to the carving, while the darkened mirror plate enhances the atmospheric quality of the piece, favouring mood and patina over clarity of reflection.
