Of low cylindrical form with a gently domed fitted lid, the surface finished in rich cinnabar-red lacquer encircled by a restrained black band at the shoulder and rim. Subtle abrasions and tonal variation reveal the depth of the layered lacquer surface, bearing witness to long and careful use. Quietly sculptural in proportion, the vessel reflects the refined simplicity of Burmese vernacular lacquerware, in which humble domestic containers were elevated through saturated colour, balanced form, and enduring material presence.
